A frog, a pig, and a talking dog all played a part in this whimsical hour
from Jim Henson, the creator of the Muppets. The first hour of each
program was generally a variety show with Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear,
and the other Muppets joining human guest stars in skits and offbeat songs.
The second half belonged to "The Storyteller," an old man seated before
a fire in a medieval cottage, with his talking dog, who spun a tale of
magic, sorcery, and good that triumphed over evil. The story was then
enacted by a combination of actors and wondrous, imaginative
creatures from Jim Henson's fertile and imaginative brain.
