This frothy comedy was the ultimate in navel-staring,
TV comedy writers writing about the funny world of TV
comedy writers. A team of four bright young neophytes had
been put together to write gags for a Candid Camera-type
series called Here's Looking at You: conservative Chicago
ad man Charlie, his frisky, insecure brother Jack, sexy
and slightly naive Alex, and abrasive New Yorker Kate. They
all lived together and played pranks on one another in a
sunny Los Angeles beachhouse--except when they were
facing their alternately tyrannical/neurotic producer Dawn in
her plush offices. Lindsay Bowen was the bouncy teenager
who lived next door to the strictly platonic roommates.
